Rajah Inn

Was at Tiong Bahru Plaza yst to catch Transformers. Before the movie, we walked ard the place to find dinner.

Saw this restaurant at level 2, Rajah Inn. Heard this restaurant b4 abt their cheap wkend porridge buffet. Took a look at the menu, they haf steamboat buffet but we only had one hr of dinner time before the movie started so we didn't try out the buffet.

I ordered a hot pot set (beef slice) and I was able to choose what soup base I want. I ordered the herbal one and it's nice! Even lubby who always dun drink soup drank 2 bowls~ haha. And the beef slice are very thin and thus tender. The other ingredients include vege, mushrooms, toufu, crabmeat, fishball. The hotpot set is only $8.80 (other than beef set, they also haf seafood, pork or chicken set) and I would say it's quite worth the money. Lubby didn't order any hotpot set but he ordered a stuff chicken and sweet and sour pork dish, not as nice as the hotpot I felt.

While we were eating, more and more ppl came and very soon, there was a Q outside! wow.. the steamboat must be good. So we have decided to go back and try the steamboat one of these days. :)

So Rajah Inn still selling the mini steamboat ?

There is another place that sell mini steamboat, NUS near the sport center (where the swimming pool is). S$6 per set (including rice or noodle). The NUS's stall is selling the Beijing cuisine mini steamboat. Quite a lot of China students eating there.

I have not tasted the one at Rajah Inn. Will give a try in near future.
