My Imperfect Eyes

Am off today, so went to my optician to do my contact lens as I only left with one month stock.

Ever since very long ago, I have this problem whenever I wear glasses. I will feel giddy. I can't adapt to the glasses no matter how long i wear them. And so the glasses always ended up lying at one corner of my room, collecting dust. And I will always wear contact lens ( I only need to wear for my right eye and my left eye is perfect eye sight) and I would rather go without any glasses and see things in a blur state than to wear my glasses and get giddy and headache.

And so today my optician found out the reason behind the giddiness. He said that my right eye ball tend to move futher in (towards the centre) whenever I look at things. Put it in simple words, I have minor cross eyes. Yes because it is a very minor one, and thus no1 actually will notice if they look at me and talk to me. But it is because of this problem that's why my right eye cannot adapt to all the glasses. And thus, he will change the lens for me to a specialised lens which can then correct my right eye ball movement and make it straight and not move towards the centre. But he said that coz I'm not a young little kid, thus it might take longer for it to be corrected. And contact lens are not able to do this correction because contact lens move together with the eye ball. Thus, I will need to wear glasses more often I guess, in order to correct my minor cross eye problem.

The last time when I went there to get my glasses and contact lens done, he told me that my left eye ball is smaller than my right eye ball. Not very obvious but there is a difference in size. Well, all the while I only thought that my right eye double eyelid is much deeper than the left eye and thus the left eye look smaller. And no matter how i look at my eyes, I feel that the eye balls are the same size. Anyway no1 pointed that out until one day Lubby actually asked me, 'your left eye ball smaller leh!' WAH he is the first one (other than my optician) to realise that lor. And so, todae I got myself the cosmetics contact lens for my left eye which will increase the size of the eye ball. Will ask Lubby again to see if it is of the same size as right eye after I wear.

My optician told me to take gd care of my eyes and do not ever ever go for lasik. He said that my eyes are ok, left eye is perfect, and as long as I maintain this and wear the glasses to correct my right eye ball movement, I will NOT need to wear glasses after 40 years old! haha. Isn't that a good news? People always have prob with lao hua and short sightedness when they get older and have to get progressive lens. I really hope that what he said is true! :)

Anyway I love my eyes and I always feel that the best feature on my face are my eyes. But little did I know that they are imperfect, with cross eyes and smaller eye ball on one side.
